Hand dug tunnel
Although the tunnel is no longer in use, it seems to have been an important road for daily life, passing through steep places and passing through forest roads to reach the village. The tunnel is solid, with traces of hand digging remaining.
You might come across something!
Takaza Shrine
It’s the guardian deity of the village.
The shrine stands quietly beside huge trees of nagi (Japanese cedar) and yew oak (Cryptomeria japonica).
The shrine grounds are covered with moss and one can feel the long history of the shrine.
There is a spring near the entrance that used to supply water for the village despite its location on high ground.
Small paths, tunnels through dense forest
A field by the side of the road, a lovely pathway that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into a slightly different space.
Acorns underfoot!
It looks like Totoro might come out!
Tunnel in the forest
Let’s see if we can also discover a tunnel that has been dug a few meters deeper!
