30 minutes by car from Kagoshima Airport
Take a “Kagoshima Kotsu” bus from bus stop No. 10 to Kokubu Station (30 minutes）

For those coming by train (JR)

Shin-Osaka Station-Kagoshima Chuo Station (2 hours 45 minutes)
Hakata Station-Kagoshima Chuo Station (1 hour 40 minutes)

Dazaifu IC – Kagoshima Airport IC (2 hr. 30 min.), 30 minutes on the local road from there

Sakurajima

Sakurajima is one of the most active volcanoes in Japan.
The sight with the sea is spectacular.
You cannot leave Kagoshima without visiting Sakurajima.

Hinatayama Hot Spring

The closest hot spring resort to Kiyomizu.
Many of the hot springs have family baths, and there is a wide variety of baths.

Tsurumaru Castle

It was built as the residence of the Shimazu clan.
In 2020, the Goromon gate was restored as the largest castle gate in Japan.

Sengan-En

The Daimyo Garden of the Shimazu family is registered as a World Heritage Site. Located by the sea, it commands a panoramic view of Sakurajima. Dining is also available.

Tenmonkan

Tenmonkan is Kagoshima’s most prominent downtown area.
